Humax HDR-Fox T2 Freeview HD Recorder

Humax HDR-Fox T2 Review

This news is hot off the press. Humax have announced that in July they will release the Humax HDR-Fox T2 Freeview HD Recorder. The official name will be a the HDR-Fox T2 Freeview+ HD recorder.

The Humax HDR-Fox T2 Freeview HD Recorder brings Humax back up to speed with many of the pother manufacturers who have already released their Freeview HD PVR's.

So how does the Humax HDR-Fox T2 shape up?

The Humax HDR-Fox T2 has a fairly typical 500 GB internal hard drive memory. This 500 GB of storage will allow you to record around 125 hours of High Definition (HD) programs. You will instantly be able to record directly from TV channels like BBC HD, ITV HD and Channel 4 HD. Importantly for all those football fans you will never miss a game as you can simply record them to watch them later.

Humax have been very forthcoming about the technical specification of the HDR-Fox T2 Freeview HD Recorder. The HUmax HDR-Fox T2 will contain in-built twin tuners which allows the user to record two channels at the same time (both HD and standard channels), there is an eight day electronic program guide (EPG) which also makes use of the wizzy series recording and schedule tracking function. This is a one-click way of recording a TV series without having to manually program each episode.

The new Humax Freeview HD Recorder also boasts a range of other exciting features including the ability to display photos and listen to MP3s through the USB port. In terms of external connectivity, as well as the USB port there is a single Ethernet port.

During the News Release, Humax's Graham North commentedon the HDR-Fox T2 saying:

"Humax was first to market with a Freeview HD receiver, the HD-FOX T2, allowing users to access outstanding HD content through their rooftop aerial for the very first time"

"The forthcoming HDR-FOX T2 continues our reputation for delivering easy-to-use, high-quality products, with a feature-packed digital TV recorder that is set to provide the very best in recording and viewing features for Freeview HD+."

We expect that the Humax HDR-Fox T2 will go on sale at the beginning of July 2010 and retail at around £349. As with all the other Freeview HD Recorders, this price is likely to fall in price as demand and competition in the Freeview HD PVR market increases.
